It really shows the impact of comparison and not feeling like you're making progress can send you spiralling. It can be emotional reasoning too, I feel dejected and like I'm not making progress so that must be what is happening. It's helpful to zoom out & take stock of what is actually going on.
Yes totally agree, those two things are so linked. We perceive that we're making 'no progress' because a) we don't track and b) we compare ourselves to what others are achieving, when we have no idea about their path or trajectory. It really is helpful to zoom out - eagle eye perspective sometimes, rather than being in the weeds of the mouse-eye view thinking it's all going to pot!
