The bombshell I did not expect to end my 12 week Self-Belief Business Experiment

A fortnight ago I shared with you in this post, that I was working on shifting my belief from:

“I’m not actually as impactful and helpful as I say I am”

to:

“My presence and expertise alone are transformational.”

And boy can I tell you, something landed in my lap that proved this, when I opened my eyes and operated from this belief.

Believe me when I say, you won’t be expecting it!

Back to the experiment though:

I laid out 12 experiments (see the full list here) I was going to try to embed this belief. But an unexpected turn of events kind of trumped them all. Plus I’ve been struggling with gastroenteritis inflicted on me by my daughter in the last week so I have not been operating at anywhere near full capacity in the last couple of weeks to implement the experiments, but I won’t use that as an excuse!

I did do 3 of the experiments so I wanted to talk you through them:

(If you want to understand the whole process of belief experiments check this article)

1. Reflect on a time when someone told you they felt better just from talking to you.

This was a fairly easy one as I have a lovely business buddy who I support (and she supports me!) on WhatsApp and also we had a call recently as we’d both been feeling stuck.

I didn’t do strict ‘coaching’ in our call together and allowed myself to just show up and say and share what I thought she needed. And she sent a lovely message afterwards to say how she was feeling.

2. Create a simple affirmation: “My presence alone brings value,” and set it as a reminder on your phone

This is always an easy low-lift win with experiments - popping a reminder in my phone! - but I definitely felt it helped me channel the sentiment of being someone who creates transformation for others, just by being myself.

3. Write a list of 10 transformations you've witnessed in past clients.

I had lots of resistance to doing this one!

And I’ll be honest, I did use ChatGPT to help me break through the blank page fear and the “that’s not enough / that’s not a thing / nobody cares” feeling that might have otherwise come up if I’d tried to write a list of transformations with no help.

I find moving from tangible to intangible outcomes really tricky.

From the work I’ve done for years where I can say tangible things like “you built a website!” or “You grew your mailing list!” to now saying my outcomes are things like “You take bold action, even when there’s risk or uncertainty” or “You make decisions and bounce back more easily from failure”, often feels ‘not enough’ - particularly in a marketing landscape at the moment that really emphasises clear outcomes as a way to sell your work.

Here’s what we came up though as the outcomes of my work with together (any clients out there reading who want to add yours, please let me know!).

Transformations I’ve witnessed in my clients

  • They stopped second-guessing every decision and started making bold, aligned moves in their business with clarity and confidence.

  • They launched the offer they’d been sitting on for months—not because they finally felt “ready,” but because they stopped waiting for permission.

  • They raised their prices without apology, no longer needing external validation to justify their worth.

  • They finally showed up online with their true voice, dropping the polished, people-pleasing tone and speaking from self-trust.

  • They let go of needing the “perfect niche” and started working with real people—learning, refining, and evolving in motion.

  • They reclaimed their time and energy by saying no to clients and opportunities that weren’t aligned, without guilt.

  • They stopped hiding behind planning and researching, and actually launched the podcast/program/offer they’d been dreaming of.

  • They stopped making business feel like a test they could fail, and started seeing it as an experiment they could learn and grow from.

  • They made peace with visibility—no longer fearing what others would think, but trusting that their work mattered.

  • They moved from stuck and silent to showing up consistently, not because they had it all figured out—but because they trusted they could handle whatever happened next.

But.

The biggie.

The opportunity that’s come to me and ultimately proves “My presence and expertise alone are transformational.”

Deep breath…
